Dr. Christina Larsen joined Healthy Pet Veterinary Hospital in November of 2019. She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master’s of Science in Veterinary Science from Tuskegee University in Alabama, and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Animal Science from McNeese State University in Louisiana. She was very involved in the gastroenterology laboratory while she was pursuing her master’s degree, and authored several scientific publications. Her passion for feline medicine is what prompted her to become a veterinarian. While attending veterinary school, she served as President of the TUCVM Student Chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners. She also received the AAFP Outstanding Senior Award for her graduating class. Post graduation, she moved to Michigan where she worked at a cat-only practices for the five years prior to joining Healthy Pet Veterinary Hospital. She really enjoys feline-focused continuing education and is always looking to learn more. Her immediate goal is to become an ABVP boarded feline specialist. She lives with her husband, young son, two cats, a German Shepherd and a Congo African Gray Parrot. She has many strong interests within feline medicine; however, she has particular interests in gastrointestinal diseases, treating the geriatric patient and feline behavior. She is a member of MVMA and AAFP.
