Osteoarthritis is a painful degenerative joint disease and can be a serious condition for our feline friends! It’s critical you relay any changes in your cat’s behavior that could indicate pain for the most accurate diagnoses from our veterinarians. Is My Cat Showing Signs of Pain?

1. Climbing Up The Stairs. Does your cat “bunny hop” with both back legs up/down the stairs?

2. Climbing Down The Stairs. Does your cat angle their body and descend stairs one at a time?

3. Chasing Moving Objects. Does your cat seem to pause/slow down playing?

4. Jumping Up. Does your cat hesitate before jumping or need to use its arms to pull its body up?

5. Jumping Down. Does your cat hesitate before jumping down and/or make smaller jumps as opposed to one large jump?

6. Running. Does your cat seem to run at a slower speed, alternating between running and walking?
